
Hey, cousins! Take a stroll with me through the area of our ancestral village. The first picture, from a local archive, was sent to me by a resident of Suwałki. It is said to be a scene in Burdeniszki before World War I.

In 2019, the monastery hosts the Roman Catholic Church of The Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. South, to Wigry National Park entrance to Czerwony Folwark.

39. "Sołtys" is someone elected to represent people of the village in need of government support, and to lead discussion of local matters at village council meetings.

57. Agritourism, recreation in rural conditions. It offers services ranging from accommodation, through partial or full-day meals, fishing, horseback riding. Also participation in farm work. It can be an alternative source of income for rural residents. Activities might include traditional arts and crafts (like embroidery, crocheting), or taking part in folk rituals, or learning regional cuisine, baking bread, making cheese or cold cuts, etc.
