
1. Approaching Skindzierz village, northbound along Droga Krajowa 8/E67 (National Highway), about 56 miles south of SuwaĆki and Burdyniszki. Said to have been a "royal village", meaning its produce benefitted the Russian tzar and not Polish landholders. These pictures were taken in June of this year by a Chicago genealogist friend, Jay Orbik. I drove through the village on August 23rd and it looked as in Jay's outstanding pictures.
