Year-long contest among RRR members, to take pictures of cars 25 years old or older, other than their own, in sudden situations. That is, at curbside, parking lots, gas stations, etc.; and even If moving, when a passenger can try for the picture. Transport trailers, okay. No pictures from car shows or dealerships. Pictures will be shown at annual holiday party, and best two shots will win a prize for each photographer. Send pictures to Gene Yetter (not eligible to win). As pictures are submitted, the most recently received will appear at the top of the list. Photos submitted may be cropped, leveled, and their highlights, shadows and colors adjusted for best effect. 62. September 6th. 1954-55 Nash Metropolitan parked along West Veterans Highway in Jackson Township, NJ. Apparently a "Series II" (of four "Series"), judging by the non-functional hood scope. Made in England! For sale! Spotted by Ken Hartos.

60. August 26th. 1961 Imperial Crown Southampton, two-door hardtop; one of 1,007 made. 89,030 miles, power windows, push button automatic. White vinyl seats with black cloth inserts; black door panels and carpeting. Big project ahead!  Faded and/or chipped paint with small dents and scratches; rocker panel rust, chrome dull and rusted. 413 cubic-inch engine, production number 2,267. Spotted by Paul Insinga at Plaza Auto Repair, Emerson Plaza East in Emerson.
59. August 23rd. 1974 BMW 2002tii. Special version offered in U.S. meeting new regulations for 5 mph bumper impact. Spotted by Gene on 11th St. between 2nd and 1st Avenues in Manhattan.
58. August 22nd. 2018 "E Option" Kia Stinger, with top-of-the-line engine and sports package. Rated to do zero to 60 in 4.7 seconds. Ken Hartos saw the car in on Buttonwood Ave. in Toms River. He made a special appeal to post his pictures, despite the car being a new model on the roads, not an antique. The E insert in the upper right of the picture is the model's exclusive badge. Ken reports: "The owner lives in Toms River. He told me the car was made in 2018, one of 400 painted yellow. Dealers received only one car. The owner's effort to buy one was an ordeal. Every time he saw a listing, the car was grabbed up by another buyer. Finally he spotted one as it was being delivered to Matt Blatt Kia in Toms River, and he bought it on the spot." 57. August 8th. 1966 1300 Volkswagen Convertible. Paint, chrome, glass, interior, floor to dash, and boot -- all like new. Three-speed manual. Spotted by Paul Insinga at Stop & Shop, next to the International Tennis Hall Of Fame and Audrain Auto Museum, Bellevue Ave., Newport, Rhode Island.
56. August 8th. 1948 Willys Jeepster Overland. Original condition, 63,337 miles. Green paint is a bit weathered; some rust on rocker panels and chrome. Manual transmission. Upholstery, canvas; cardboard door panels. No roll down windows, but with plastic side curtains on ragtop. Spotted by Paul Insinga on Thames Ave. in Newport, Rhode Island.

46. BARN FIND! May 28. 1924 Dodge Special Type-A Sedan. Seen at Doyle's Automotive on Main St. in New Milford. Spotted by Pete Doll. All steel body, except for wooden roof. 12-volt electrical system. Nickel radiator shell; optional Budd-Michelin steel disk wheels. Mechanical restoration planned. June 29th update: "He put new tires on it and drove it home. Runs, drives, and stops good. Needs a radiator re-core and the obvious bodywork."

40. 5/19/2020, '68 Dodge Dart. Spotted by Paul Insinga at Conoco Gas Station on Kinderkamack Rd. in Oradell, same location as in next picture (but a few weeks earlier!). Paul found out from owner this car is powered by "a Slant Six, has Hurst automatic on the floor, bench seats, traction bars (visible), and it's ready for a tow to the dragstrip!" Check out the full moon wheel covers! In the yellow circle, just leaving the station, a "1970 Ford Model A replica", according to a station attendant.
39. 4/13/20, 1967 Dodge Coronet V8. Conoco Gas Station on Kinderkamack Rd. in Oradell. The car is bumper-to-bumber with the Dart above. Spotted by Paul Insinga.
38. May 14, 2020. Morgan Plus 4 on Plympton St. in New Milford. Found in a field in upstate New York and restored. Morgan vehicles famously don't change much from year to year. The owner of this one confirmed his car was built in 1961, but imported as a 1962. Some changes were made in the restoration. Maybe including a '62+ curved windshield.  Spotted by Pete Doll.

35. Derelict 1979 Dodge Li'l Red Express. May 12th, on Windsor Rd. in New Milford. Flat rear tire, crooked bumper, serious rust, parked on a pile of yard trash, camera lens flare, and iconic Big-Truck exhausts, gone forever. A sad sight. 34. 1981 Datsun 280ZX Turbo, May 9th, on Plympton St. in New Milford. Full-width taillight assembly unusual for the Datsun model. Most have plate secured in recessed area between the taillights, instead of hung on the bumper. Spotted by Pete Doll.

30. April 10th. 1955 Chrysler New Yorker DeLuxe on Eagle Ave. in New Milford. A derelict with at least two flat tires, but the front-end chrome seems in good shape. 29. 4/6/2020; Delta station at intersection of Essex/Market Sts. and Main St./Rochelle Ave. in Lodi, NJ. '51 Ford F1 Panel Truck with Five Star Cab option. Probably an Inline Six (missing the V8 emblem above the grille): 215 cubic inches producing 101 horsepower, three-on-the-tree. "Needs some interior restoration". Spotted by Paul Insinga.

We were in Savannah for several days, and when we were about to leave, I saw the old police car. I stopped in a no-parking zone to take a few pictures. I didn't know about the carspotting contest at the time. I believe the car was a fixture at the location, Habersham St. and Oglethorpe Ave., and exposed to the elements. The brick building looks like a relic of days gone by."
